People often have a belief that being short is hereditary or simply run in the genes. There may be some truth behind this assumption, however this status is reversible. There are some ways that one can do in order to get over their height problems.
Before anything else, let us first look into the physiology on how our bodies grow. The bones play a very essential role regarding this. Just so you know, infants have more bones as compared to adults. This is because the greater part of the skeletal system of an infant consists of cartilage.
In this connection, growth is more facilitated at a younger age since lengthening of bones is possible during these times as compared to an older person whose cartilages have fused to form solid bones.
Puberty is the most crucial part in an individual’s life. This is the time wherein rapid lengthening of the bones is evident. Growth spurts occur thus bones should be kept and maintained in their best health possible. Once we reach adult, the plates of the long bones now close thus putting a stop to the lengthening process.
After this happens, it will be very hard for one to become taller except when he/she resorts to surgical intervention. There is no amount of stretching exercises that will make lengthening of the bones possible when you reach adulthood. So, there is no need for you to waste your time, money and efforts in doing so.
But if you are very insistent to grow a few inches, you can undergo surgery provided that you are aware of the wide variety of post operative risks and complications that come along with the procedure. The process will involve breaking your bones and inserting metal plates in between them. As time passes by, these bones will grow back together resulting to a taller individual.
However, you must be aware that there are a lot more ways on how you can achieve a taller image. Proper diet and exercise will definitely work most especially in your puberty years. Your diet must consist of calcium, protein, amino acids, and other nutrients so that your body will have enough nutrients to consume for energy and other physiological or metabolic processes.
Failure to observe the previously mentioned will result to a stunted growth.
