The internet is a good medium for information on how you can grow taller. You can find a lot of websites which will be able to give you some tips on proper diet, and perhaps, some exercise programs and stretch sessions that will contribute to the lengthening of your bones.
However, these are not assurances that you will indeed grow taller. It may be some of the ways to help you gain a few inches in your height but in some cases, these tips won’t work at all. It only works when you religiously observe it while you are still younger. Why is this so?
When we were younger, our skeletal system is composed majorly of cartilages. Thus, it is expected that these cartilages are flexible and can be stretched. This is the time wherein you can do stretching exercises and have a good diet rich in proteins, amino acids, calcium and many more. Failure to do so within the stage of puberty will mean stunted growth. As an individual exits his puberty stage, these cartilages fuse together and form solid bones wherein plates close. This is the reason why growth is stopped after adolescence. No amount of exercise and diet will make you taller after that time except for surgical intervention.
However, there are many risks and complications that come along with surgery. It is then very impractical to undergo such procedure especially when you are already at an older age. It is also very difficult and expensive to find a well experienced doctor for this procedure to be performed. So it is best that height is improved when person is still younger.
The surgery will have to include breaking your leg bones and secure them by inserting metal plates in between them. After a matter of months, the bones will gradually grow back together in order to fill in the gap. But, if you come to think about it, the recovery process will take a very long time and a rehabilitative physical therapy might be needed afterwards. You may also be exposed to risks such as paralysis, nerve damage and could even go worse until the possibility of death.
Are you willing to risk your own life for the sake of getting taller? No way! You need to know that there are a lot of better alternatives than surgery. You can even cheat on looking taller with the aid of fashion.
